I'm Beverley Forbes-Diaby
I was born on the island chain of St. Vincent and the Grenadines where life was not easy growing up. My six siblings and I did not have beds to sleep on, but we made the best of sleeping on the floor with our one "mattress" Oftentimes, we even lacked nutritious foods. At age 12, I migrated to New York and lived with an aunt while I awaited the arrival of my mother and siblings. When I rejoined my family, I watched my mother work tirelessly to provide for us all. Though life continued to be a struggle, we never lacked for life's basic necessities, nor did our circumstances keep us from sharing the little we had with others. This was a lesson my grandmother instilled in us on the island, and it has stuck with me ever since.

Fast forward several years, and I began doing missionary work with Trinity Methodist Church in Brooklyn, NY. As the Head of Missions, I traveled to East and Central Africa, where I saw first-hand the hardship that children and young adults around me were experiencing. I was moved immensely, and upon my return to the U.S, I founded HELP FOR HUMANITY,a 501(c(3) charitable organization. This was winter 2009, and since then, HELP FOR HUMANITY has been working to improve the lives of children and young adults in developing countries through food, clothing, medical supplies, and monetary assistance for school fees.
Around 2010, I had a vivid and moving dream wherein I decided to write a book. In my spirit, I heard a loud and clear voice say, "Under His Wings" for the book's title. I was truly moved by the Lord, and began writing inspirational poetry that flowed out of me seamlessly. It is worth mentioning that I had been experiencing a low season in life during this time, and it seemed as though the world had been attacking me from every angle. Nonetheless, the Lord's voice was absolute, and my poetry book was completed. A few years later, I once again heard the Lord tell me to expand on my project with greeting cards. From that moment, I have been committed to creating products stemming from my poetry book that would uplift, encourage and unleash hope in others. In that moment, Covered Inspirations was born. With that in mind, proceeds from Covered Inspirations will be donated to HELP FOR HUMANITY as the charity continues to meet the needs of children and youths in developing countries.
